Madagascar: hunger and precariousness push families to sell their children (France 24)

🌪In Madagascar, the recent deadly passage of cyclone Freddy adds to the desolation left after cyclones Batsirai and Emnati a year ago, which had destroyed everything: crops, harvests, roads, infrastructure.

A disaster that plunged hundreds of thousands of Malagasy into starvation. Last January, Malagasy media revealed that families are forced to sell their children to survive.

The controversy swells and becomes a matter of state. The information was quickly denied by the government. France 24 visited isolated villages and obtained exclusive testimonies that contradict the official version.
