This May 2026, the Fifaliana Indray association reached a new milestone in our commitment to healthcare access in Madagascar. Our teams mobilized in the communities of Mandoto and Ambatolahy for a free medical tour that exceeded all expectations.
Essential Access to Care
Geographic isolation should never be a barrier to health. Driven by this conviction, our volunteers set up mobile clinics in the heart of these villages. The turnout spoke volumes about the real need: a total of over 300 patients were welcomed, heard, and treated.
Medical Assessment: Major Public Health Challenges
Beyond general consultations, this mission allowed us to provide crucial diagnostics and raise awareness among the local population. Among the most frequent conditions, we identified:
-
Hypertension (High Blood Pressure): A true “silent killer” affecting many adults who were unaware of their condition. We were able to establish follow-ups and provide dietary advice.
-
Bilharzia (Schistosomiasis): This parasitic disease, linked to water quality, remains a major health challenge in the region. Treatments were administered to stop the infection.
-
Respiratory Issues (Cough): Very common during this season, these cases received careful attention to prevent pulmonary complications.
Together, Bringing Back the Smile
Every patient who leaves with a treatment plan and professional advice is a victory for Fifaliana Indray. But our mission doesn’t end here. These figures highlight the importance of sustaining our actions to provide long-term support to these communities.
“The joy (Fifaliana) we bring is a reflection of our donors’ solidarity and the energy of our volunteer doctors.”
